A Parish Blog

The Second Vatican Council opened 50 years ago today, for our parish it is also a special day, The Feast of the Motherhood of Our Lady. This was (and in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite is) our parish patronal feast day.

So on this important feast day this blog has been initiated. The initial plan is to publish the weekly bulletin and in the future, post about parish, diocesan and wider Church events. It is also hope that this can become a parish resource, so that we can better know what is going on in the Church.

Central to the life of the Church is the liturgy, therefore information about the Liturgy will also feature in the blog. The liturgy is central to our life, in particular the Eucharist, as “the Source and the Summit of the Christian life” (CCC 1324). By understanding what the Church says about our liturgy we can better foster a liturgical life in the parish, which is vital to the rest of the work of the Church.

  1. Dear Mgr,

Welcome to the world of blogging! I will add your blog to our list of frequent reads so that I can continue to learn form the more learned. Do expect some 'challenging' commentators who are not always polite but who always allow one to either modify or consolidate one's views.
    God bless you and yours.
