Reopening of the Cathedral Church of St Marie, Hallam - Vespers and Compline

Tonight the Cathedral Church of St Marie reopened.  Vespers and Compline was offered for the first time in 14 months in the Cathedral.


Bishop John Rawsthorn presided.  He blessed his new cathedra and the ambo.  The relics of saints that will be placed in the new altar were venerated.

Requiem Mass at Rivelin Cemetery Chapel

The annual Requiem Mass at Rivelin Cemetry Chapel in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will take place Saturday.  The Brothers of the Catholic Men's Society will be attending. They are a Catholic sodality founded in 1854 and still doing great work in Sheffield and helping our brothers and sisters around the world too;

November Month of Devotion to The Holy Souls in Purgatory

MASSES:
Sunday:  8.30 & 10am. Exposition 11.15am to 2pm in the day chapel & from 2pm to 4 in church.  Rosary & Benediction at 4pm offered for World Peace. Prayer Group at 7pm. Tea and coffee after 10 Mass. Musicians and singers of all ages are needed and are very welcome to join in the 10am folk group.
Monday: 10am & 7.30pm. Exposition until 8.30pm.  SVP at 8pm.
Tuesday: 7 & 10am.  Note the address for the rosary. 
Wednesday: 10am & 7pm followed by  followed by the sixth session of “Knowing God Better” in the parish centre. This is the penultimate session entitled “Knowing God’s Spirit”, everyone welcome. Novena to Our Lady of Miraculous Medal after 10 Mass. Toddler group 10.30am to 12.
Thursday:  7am & 12.00. Novena with Holy Communion & Adoration at 7.30pm. Ascent group at 10am at 43 St Ronan’s Rd.  Soup lunch after 12 Mass, everyone welcome.
Friday:  10am. Holy Hour in the Day chapel from 2-3pm. 
Saturday: 10am & 6.30pm first Mass for Sunday. Confessions 10.30-11am, 5.30 -6pm.

Prayer for Peace: come and pray the rosary at the home of Margaret Young, 54 Swaledale Rd on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm.  Everyone welcome.

UCM: Due to the talks taking place “Knowing God Better” on Wednesday nights the UCM will not be having a meeting until 21 Nov.

‘Faith on the Frontline’: The Sheffield branch of Catholic Medical Association invites.  You to listen to a talk by Fr. Bill Bergin, whose ministry has included working as an army chaplain at military hospitals in Iraq, and who is currently chaplain to Rampton hospital, and a prison, as well as a parish priest.  On Wed 7th Nov at 7pm at St Vincent’s Church Hall, Pickmere Rd.  Free admission, tea & coffee afterwards.
